This comforting Hamburger Green Bean Casserole combines ground beef and green beans in a creamy sauce, perfect for busy weeknights.

  • 2 cups green beans, fresh or canned
  • 1 cup onion, diced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 3 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup beef or chicken broth (alcohol-free)
  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (ensure alcohol-free)
  • 1 to 2 cups Colby jack cheese, shredded
  • 1/8 teaspoon dried thyme

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned.
  2. Add the diced onion and sliced mushrooms, sautéing until softened.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the green beans and broth, covering the skillet to steam the beans until tender.
  5. Reduce heat to low and stir in the sour cream, cream cheese, thyme, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper until the sauce is creamy.
  6. Top the mixture with shredded Colby jack cheese.
  7. Cover and cook for 2 to 3 minutes or until the cheese is completely melted and bubbling.
  8. Serve warm straight from the skillet.
